Dogs destroyed after attack on sheep

A KENT farmer has been left counting the cost after his flock of sheep were attacked by dogs.

Simon Kemp, of Kingswood Manor Farm in Harbledown, near Canterbury, discovered the horrific scene when he went to check on the animals. One sheep had been killed outright and another three had to be put down by vets. The two German Shepherds responsible were destroyed after their owner came forward.

“This happens far too often,” said Mr Kemp. “It has happened to me three or four times already and this is the only time the dog owner has come forward.”

Every one of the 74 sheep in the field was attacked. They were all in lamb and the vet told Mr Kemp they will probably all abort from the stress.

He also warned that more could yet die from their injuries or the shock of their ordeal.
