Kent duo's Cornwall mini break ruined by police who fined them for breaking lockdown rules

Two people from Kent had their mini break foiled after they were caught sleeping in a car by police.

The duo had travelled to Falmouth in Cornwall for a getaway.

Officers spoiled their trip after finding them sleeping in a car.

The car was seized and fines were issues for breaking the coronavirus lockdown rules.

A police officer, whose Twitter account is called The Hungry Copper, tweeted about the incident today.

People have been instructed not to embark on getaways during the national lockdown - or they could face being fined.

Earlier this month, police ordered picnickers away from Mote Park, while tennis players fancied a game in Kennington and kite surfers took to the waves off Greatstone.

Two jet skiers were given a telling off by police yesterday in Herne Bay after they flouted lockdown rules.
