Face of a wanted sex pest

POLICE have released an e-fit of a young man wanted for questioning in connection with an incident in a graveyard at Milton Regis, near Sittingbourne, last month.

The man indecently exposed himself to a four-year-old boy and asked him to perform a gratuitous act on him after leading the boy and his friend into the Holy Trinity Church graveyard in Green Porch Close, off Saffron Way.

The man was described by a passer-by as being white, aged 17 to 18, of medium build and wearing a blue baseball cap, navy blue top and trousers. He lured the two four-year-olds from Vaughan Drive, where they were playing, into the graveyard by inviting them to play a game of hide-and-seek.

He told one boy to go and hide before exposing himself to the other. It is then believed the offender made off from the scene without any further incident.

But he had already been seen by a passer-by who thought it suspicious to see a young man leading two children into a graveyard.

Police are advising parents and guardians to keep a closer check on children and make sure that they are supervised at all times when playing in a public place. Spokeswoman Sally Farrell said: "We feel it is very important that anyone with any information should come forward as soon as possible so we can catch the offender, arrest him and put him before a court."

If anyone has any information that may help police they are asked to contact Swale Special Investigations Unit on 01795 477055 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
