Demonstration of first
aid by Jill Luckhurst of St John Ambulance

St John Ambulance trainers in Maidstone are urging parents to
take the time to learn some basic first aid skills.

It's after a report from the Baby Safe Campaign earlier this
week, which revealed that as many as eight in 10 parents don't
know what to do if their baby chokes or stops breathing.

It also showed half of parents have never taken a first aid
course.

KentOnline went to a first aid training session at the St John
Ambulance centre in Maidstone to find out the basic advice to cope
if a baby or toddler chokes or stops breathing.

Jill Luckhurst gave us a demonstration - see the video
above.
