Flood warnings remain in place for some parts of the county.
The Environment Agency has issued on-going alerts for the Upper River Medway in west Kent, the Upper and Lower River Stour, the East Stour River and rivers on the Isle of Sheppey.
Residents are advised to remain vigilant and avoid flooded land or driving through flooded roads.
The warning map was updated by the agency at 6am this morning and further updates are expected this afternoon.
Water levels on the Medway are expected to peak this morning.
The agency said: "Flooding of property may still be possible but we do not expect levels to be as high as those experienced during 2013. Levels will remain high throughout Sunday.
"Towpaths and and underpasses in Maidstone town centre are likely to remain flooded until Monday."
Water levels are expected to peak in Maidstone at midday and around Yalding at 10am. These levels are expected to remain high throughout the day before slowly falling.
The agency says its officers are operating defences, inlcuding the Leigh flood storage area.
A specialist flood response team has been working hard at Whitehall Road in Canterbury to deploy defences.
The Westgate Gardens temporary defences, placed along a slip into the River Stour, have been installed to defend 38 homes seen to be at risk.
In Ashford the water levels on the River Stour and River Beult remain high but these are expected to fall throughout today. Flooding may still affect low-lying properties.
The flood alert for the Isle of Sheppey says: "River levels remains high. The risk of flooding on low lying roads and lands remains.Further rainfall is forecast over the next six hours. We expect river levels to remain high for the next 24 hours."
The Environment Agency said its incident response staff are monitoring the situation and are prepared to respond if required.
