The Foreign Office is dismissing reports that Somali pirates holding a
British couple have threatened to kill them unless a huge ransom is
paid.

The Daily Mail claims the captors want £1.9 million in
exchange of Paul and Rachel Chandler of Tunbridge Wells.

It also says Mrs Chandler has been beaten up.

The couple were snatched as they sailed from the Seychelles to Tanzania in October.
