More than 50 firefighters are tackling a major fire at a former hotel in Margate.

Crews were called to the three storey building in Sweyn Road just after 5am today (Saturday).

Several floors and the roof of the building, which was being converted into flats, have caught light.

The building was unoccupied and there have been no injuries.

Ten appliances from East Kent, along with specialist vehicles, including a height vehicle, are currently at the scene.
