Four held after attempted bank robbery

FOUR young men have been arrested following an attempted robbery at the Halifax bank in High Street, Margate, today.

The four suspects, all from London, were arrested in the town centre shortly after the incident. They are a 22-year-old man from Lewisham, a 21-year-old from Kennington, a 19-year-old from Brixton and an 18-year-old from Clapham.

They are being interviewed by detectives at Thanet police headquarters in Margate.

The attempted robbery occurred shortly after 11am. A Thanet police spokeswoman said this afternoon: “No-one was hurt in the incident.”
