A fourth teenager has been charged over the murder of a youth during violence between about 30 Afghans in Folkestone earlier this year.

Eraij Faqirzada appeared in the dock at Maidstone Crown Court today. He previously claimed to be 15 but is thought to be at least 18.

He was remanded in custody until May 5, when he is due to enter a plea together with Fazulmaq Walizada, 18, Farid Hussani, 18, and a 17-year-old boy, who cannot be identified for legal reasons.

The hearing is to take place at Reading Crown Court where the trial judge Mr Justice Cooke will then be sitting. The trial is expected to be in October.

Faqirzada, of no fixed address, Walizada, of Channel House, Bradstone Road, Folkestone, Hussani, of Folkestone Road, Dover, and the other youth, of Ashford, have all been remanded in custody.

They are charged with murdering Osman Sherzad, 17, who died from stab wounds, and violent disorder in Marine Terrace on January 24.

Judge Jeremy Carey heard Faqirzada was stabbed four times and was in hospital for several weeks. Others were also injured.
