Kent residents are being warned to be careful on the roads today and tomorrow.

The Met Office has issued a yellow warning saying there is a chance of disruption from icy conditions in much of the county.

There are concerns that temperatures in areas that have received heavy rain over the last few days will reach below zero tonight, causing puddles to ice over.

Kent County Council has also issued a gritting alert as it seeks to ensure the main roads will remain ice and frost free.

The yellow warning for ice is in place across most of west, central, north and east Kent from 8pm until 11am tomorrow.

While it doesn't affect anywhere south of Tunbridge Wells and Folkestone, residents should still remain cautious if travelling tomorrow morning.

Under the yellow warning, people are advised there is a slight chance that bus and train services may be delayed or cancelled, with some road closures and longer journey times.

There is also a small chance of travel delays on roads with some stranded vehicles and passengers.
