Drivers are being urged to avoid a main road in Sevenoaks after a gas leak.

It was reported shortly before 4pm that a leak was coming from the basement of a building in Bayham Road after a gas pipe broke.

The road has been closed at Bayham Road and its junctions with Serpentine Road, Holly Bush Lane and Vine Court Road.

Surrounding properties have also been evacuated.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service are also on the scene.
