Kent signed Hampshire seam bowler David Balcombe on a one-month loan on Saturday evening.

The 26-year-old right-arm bowler made his county debut in 2005. He has taken 72 first-class wickets, as well as 10 wickets in one-day cricket and Twenty20.

Balcombe said: "I am really pleased to be joining Kent for this period, and look forward to the opportunity to represent the county and contribute to success for the club."

Kent team director Paul Farbrace said: "We are really pleased that the deal has been agreed with Hampshire and we now hope that David will do very well for Kent."

Balcombe made his debut in Kent’s four-day Championship game at Surrey which started on Sunday.
