the scene of the crash and his surprise at the award

by Luke Hollands

A young father from Ashford who risked his life to rescue a
stranger trapped in a crashed car is to receive a prestigious award
for bravery.

When 26-year-old plumber Daniel Frake, of Sussex Avenue, saw a
car rolled on its side on the M20 he could have simply carried on
driving.

Instead he stopped and putting all thoughts of fear out of his
mind climbed into the wrecked vehicle to give first aid.

His actions helped save the driver's life. Mr Frake stayed with
the trapped man throughout the ordeal, even when he was being cut
free from the damaged vehicle.

His actions have earned him a big thank you from Kent Fire and
Rescue, and now he is to be honoured with a top bravery award from
the service.
