Commuters to London from east Kent got their first taste of the
new high speed rail service on Monday.

The limited preview service ran from Ramsgate at 6am and Dover
Priory at 6.42am.

The Southeastern service will see journey times to the capital
almost halved for many commuters.

Until the full service starts in December, two peak
services will run in the morning and two in the evening.

Speaking when the new preview services were announced,
Southeastern's managing director Charles Horton said: "We always
hoped we could expand the preview service and thanks to the success
of the first weeks we are now in a position to do this.

"We want as many people as possible to be able to experience the
service before the full timetable is introduced in December."
