Today is set to be the hottest day of the year so far, with temperatures set to reach 29 degrees in parts of the county.
The Met Office predicts the high for Maidstone and Dartford, with the rest of the county also experiencing clear skies and sunshine.
It comes after meteorologist Michael Silverstone said temperatures could climb to “29 or even 30 Celsius”.
He added: “If we reach 30 on Thursday, it will be the earliest date in May that the UK has seen 30 degrees since our records began in 1860.”
It will be hotter than Ibiza in parts of Kent today, with organisations such as Age UK warning the vulnerable to keep cool.
In Canterbury and Sevenoaks, the predicted high is 28.
In Folkestone and Margate, it’s 25, and in Chatham, temperatures are set to reach 27 degrees.
