'How very dare you?’ asks Tate film’s director

THE DIRECTOR of Catherine Tate’s new film is bovvered that she and her family cannot see it in Kent.

Billie Eltringham, whose family comes from Marden, said Warner Brothers had released the independently-made Mrs Ratcliffe’s Revolution at only a few cinemas in the north of the country.

Ms Eltringham, said: “Distributors like Warner Brothers with a small film like ours want to get more bang for their bucks. Unfortunately, the British public are notoriously bad at supporting British films.”

The film, which stars the comedienne famous for her character Lauren and her “Am I bovvered?” catchline, was made in six weeks on a £3.5 million budget.

Shame

The director’s sister, Anne Cox, who lives in Marden High Street, said: “It’s a shame because Billie is a Kent lady and we’d really like it to be shown down here.”
