A sandwich thief and drink drivers more than double the limit are among those to face justice in Kent's magistrates' courts in the past week.

Aftershave thief behind bars

Dean Robinson, of Fort Pitt Street, Chatham, stole aftershave worth £64.50 from a shop in The Pentagon Shopping Centre, Chatham.

Magistrates sentenced the 25-year-old to 40 days in prison. He must also pay £64 compensation, £85 costs and a £115 victim surcharge.

Battery thief in prison

Adam Roberts, of Cornwall Road, Dartford, stole batteries worth £126.50 from a supermarket in Prospect Place, Dartford.

Magistrates sentenced the 29-year-old to 120 days in prison, but because the offence was done during the operational period of a suspended sentence, the overall length of his sentence is 165 days.

He must also pay £126 compensation, £85 costs and a £115 victim surcharge.

Gillingham woman charged with multiple offences

Samantha Windeatt, of Duncan Road failed to attend an initial assessment to find out whether she was dependent on heroin.

The 36-year-old also stole alcohol and groceries worth £298.18 from a supermarket in Cuxton Road, Strood.

She then failed to turn up to court without reasonable excuse.

Magistrates sentenced Windeatt to 90 days in prison, suspended for a year. She must also pay £50 costs and a £115 victim surcharge.

Disqualified driver won't be driving for three years

Blair Crittenden, of River Street, Gillingham, drove a Peugeot 406 in Maidstone Road, Chatham, while disqualified and with no insurance.

Magistrates sentenced the 29-year-old to 56 days in prison, suspended for a year and banned him from driving for three years. He must also pay a £115 victim surcharge.

Rochester man handed 200 hours of unpaid work

Kevin Coates, of Cambria Avenue broke into a shed in Alexandra Avenue, Gillingham, and stole a bike, a strimmer and some garden tools worth an unknown amount.

The 37-year-old also made a false representation by offering the sale of property which was stolen, intending to make a gain of £20.

He also trespassed behind the counter at a betting shop in Canterbury Street, Gillingham, and stole a coin tray containing £43.89.

Magistrates ordered Coates to carry out 200 hours of unpaid work in the next year. He must also pay £73 compensation and an £80 victim surcharge.

Drink driver banned and handed unpaid work

Luke Harding, of Queens Road, Gravesend, drove a Ford Kuga in Queens Road, and gave a breath test of 101 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35 microgrammes.

Magistrates banned the 37-year-old from driving for a year and 11 months and ordered him to carry out 100 hours of unpaid work in the next year. He must also pay £85 costs and an £85 victim surcharge.

Driving offender won't be on the road for four years

Colin Ludlow, of Tedder Avenue, Chatham, drove a Rover 25 in Sittingbourne, without a licence and with no insurance. He also failed to provide a specimen of breath for analysis.

Magistrates banned the 35-year-old from driving for four months. He must also pay a £763 fine, £185 costs and a £43 victim surcharge.

Sandwich thief charged

Dean Medcraft, of Grange Hill, Chatham, stole meat, alcohol, coffee and sandwiches worth £135.04 from a service station in Watling Street, Strood.

Magistrates sentenced the 29-year-old to 90 days in prison, suspended for a year. He must also pay £135 compensation, £85 costs and a £115 victim surcharge.

Rochester man behind bars for having a mobile phone

Isshaq Khan, of Sir Evelyn Road, had a mobile phone at a prison in Sir Evelyn Road.

Magistrates sentenced the 22-year-old to 90 days in prison. He must also pay a £115 victim surcharge.

No driving for two years for one Gravesend man

Zultano Tamiozzo, of Ingoldsby Road, drove a Ford S-Max in Ingoldsby Road, and gave a breath test of 91 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.

Magistrates banned the 40-year-old from driving for two years and ordered him to carry out 100 hours of unpaid work in the next year. He must also pay £300 costs and an £85 victim surcharge.

Drink driver banned for three years

Phillip Marchall, of Old Road, Chatham, drove a Peugeot 206 on the A2, Cuxton, without due care and attention, and gave a breath test of 55 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.

Magistrates banned the 47-year-old from driving for three years. He must also pay a £350 fine, £400 costs and a £35 victim surcharge.

Rum thief charged

Liam O'Connor, of Effingham Crescent, Dover, stole two bottles of rum worth £32 from a supermarket in Bridge Street, Dover.

Magistrates sentenced the 43-year-old to 56 days in prison, suspended for a year. He must also pay £85 costs and a £115 victim surcharge.

Man in possession of a knife charged

Scott Brown, of Nile Road, Gillingham, had a bladed kitchen knife in Gillingham Road, Gillingham.

Magistrates sentenced the 50-year-old to 120 days in prison, suspended for a year, and gave him a six month curfew to remain at home between 6pm and 4am daily until June 14 next year. He must also pay £85 costs and a £115 victim surcharge.

Toy thief behind bars

Michelle Bull, of Meads Avenue, Sittingbourne, stole toys worth £190 from a shop in Mill Way, Sittingbourne.

Magistrates sentenced the 27-year-old to 42 days in prison. She must also pay a £115 victim surcharge.

Hartley man handed ban and curfew

William Scamp, of Ash Road, drove a Peugeot 407 in Watchgate, Dartford, with no insurance and gave a breath test of 85 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.

He also had a locking pocket knife in his possession.

Magistrates banned the 31-year-old from driving for three years and four months and gave him a three month curfew to remain at an address in Falcon Road, Longfield, between 7pm and 7am daily until March 15 2017.

He must also pay a £120 fine, £350 costs and an £85 victim surcharge.

Faversham man handed driving ban

John Wilson, of Brenley Lane, drove a Ford Transit in Thanet Way, Canterbury, and gave a blood test of 176 microgrammes of benzoylecgonine per litre of blood. The threshold limit is 50 microgrammes.

Magistrates banned the 26-year-old from driving for a year and 10 months. He must also pay a £350 fine, £150 costs and a £35 victim surcharge.

Homeless man charged for drink driving

Homeless Luckas Kondras drove a Seat Altea in Deal Road, Dover, and gave a breath test of 120 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.

Magistrates sentenced the 36-year-old to 12 weeks in prison, suspended for two years, and banned him from driving for three years. He must also pay £85 costs and a £115 victim surcharge.

Ashford man won't be driving for two years

Jason Palmer, of Mabledon Avenue, drove a BMW 320 in Apsley Street, Ashford, and gave a breath test of 99 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.

Magistrates banned the 37-year-old from driving for two years and ordered him to carry out 120 hours of unpaid work in the next year. He must also pay £620 costs and an £85 victim surcharge.

Driving offender banned

Adrian Matache, of South Road, Hythe, drove a BMW 3-Series in Seabrook Road, Hythe, without a licence and with no insurance. He gave a breath test of 64 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.

Magistrates banned the 30-year-old from driving for a year and a half. He must also pay a £660 fine, £85 costs and a £30 victim surcharge.

Boots thief sent to prison

James Greenall, of Wincheap, Canterbury, stole boots worth £69 from a supermarket in St George’s Street, Canterbury.

Magistrates sentenced the 40-year-old to 240 days in prison. He must also pay £85 costs and a £115 victim surcharge.

Folkestone man charged for damage

Shane Broadbent, of North Street, damaged a glass door panel worth £100 and assaulted a man at another address in North Street.

Magistrates sentenced the 44-year-old to 16 weeks in prison, suspended for a year, and ordered him to carry out 200 hours of unpaid work in the next year. He must also pay £500 compensation, £85 costs and a £115 victim surcharge.

David Brown, of Lister Road, Margate, drove a BMW in Harbour Street, Ramsgate, and gave a breath test of 60 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. T

Herne Bay woman won't be driving for more than three years

Donna Cole, of Lancet Drive, drove a Peugeot 206 in Marine Gardens, Margate, with no insurance and gave a breath test of 99 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.

Magistrates banned the 39-year-old from driving for three years and four months and ordered her to carry out 120 hours of unpaid work in the next year. She must also pay £85 costs and an £85 victim surcharge.

Phone case thief charged

Loma Israilov, of Peter Street, Folkestone, stole three phone cases worth £105 from a shop in Alexandra Gardens, Folkestone.

The 42-year-old also received stolen cosmetic items, e-cigarettes, a thermometer and a digital breathalyser worth £309.92, knowing or believing them to be stolen goods.

Magistrates sentenced Israilov to 56 days in prison, suspended for a year. He must also pay a £230 victim surcharge.

Ramsgate man handed driving ban

Kieran Heffer, of Albion Road, drove a Seat Leon on the A299, Ramsgate, and gave a breath test of 78 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.

Magistrates banned the 28-year-old from driving for a year and eight months. He must also pay a £120 fine, £85 costs and a £30 victim surcharge.

Tonbridge man charged for drink driving

Sujuth Murala, of Welland Road, drove a Toyota Yaris on the M25 at Sevenoaks, and gave a breath test of 78 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.

Magistrates banned the 32-year-old from driving for a year and a half. He must also pay a £110 fine, £85 costs and a £20 victim surcharge.

Paul Griffiths, of Bremner Close, Swanley, drove a Ford Fiesta on the A20, West Kingsdown, with no insurance and gave a breath test of 70 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.

Magistrates banned the 36-year-old from driving for a year and a half. He must also pay a £110 fine, £85 costs and a £20 victim surcharge.

Three years off the road for drink driver

Carl Rogers, of Queens Road, Tunbridge Wells, drove a Mercedes 320 CLK in Fountains Industrial Park, Tunbridge Wells, and gave a breath test of 53 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.

Magistrates banned the 53-year-old from driving for three years. He must also pay a £300 fine, £85 costs and a £30 victim surcharge.

Multiple offences land one man in prison

Kevin Chew, of Alder Way, Swanley, stole drinks worth £10 from a supermarket in London Road, Swanley.

The next day he took a Fiat 500 without the owner’s consent, and drove it in Alder Way without a licence and with no insurance. He gave a breath test of 104 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath..

Maidstone man handed ban and curfew

Christopher Haw, of Sutton Road, Maidstone, drove a Skoda Fabia in Sutton Road, and gave a breath test of 90 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.

Magistrates banned the 24-year-old from driving for three years and gave him a three week curfew to remain at home between 7pm and 7am daily until January 6 2017. He must also pay £85 costs and an £85 victim surcharge.
