A dog toy thief and a drug driver are among those to face justice in Kent's magistrates' courts in the latest round-up.

Two year driving ban for Hythe man

Valentin-Vasile Niculaie, of South Road, let a man drive a BMW 3 Series in Seabrook Road, Hythe, without a licence and with no insurance.

He also drove the vehicle himself with no insurance and gave a breath test of 95 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35 microgrammes.

Magistrates banned the 35-year-old from driving for two years and ordered him to carry out 140 hours of unpaid work in the next year. He must also pay £85 costs and an £85 victim surcharge.

Deal woman banned for three years

Rubie Cousins, of Sandown Road, drove a Ford Ka in Jubilee Way, Dover, and gave a breath test of 58 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.

Magistrates banned the 25-year-old from driving for three years. She must also pay a £150 fine, £85 costs and a £30 victim surcharge.

Dover man in prison for harassment

Jacob Smith, of Norman Street, harassed a man and a woman by shouting and swearing at them.

Magistrates sentenced the 51-year-old to 180 days in prison. He must also pay a £115 victim surcharge.

Drink driver more than three times the limit banned

James Lawrence, of Burch Avenue, Sandwich, drove an Alfa Romeo in Circular Road, Deal, without a licence and with no insurance.

He gave a breath test of 122 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.

Magistrates sentenced the 29-year-old to 90 days in prison, suspended for a year, banned him from driving for five years and gave him a 90-day curfew to remain at home between 7pm and 5am daily until April 3.

He must also pay a £500 fine, £300 compensation, £85 costs and a £115 victim surcharge.

Prison for shoplifter and attacker

Christopher Tweed, of Harbour Way, Folkestone, stole perfume worth £202 and assaulted a man at a shop in Sandgate Road, Folkestone.

He also breached a criminal behaviour order by entering the shop, which he was banned from.

Magistrates sentenced the 30-year-old to 120 days in prison. He must also pay a £115 victim surcharge.

Dog toy thief behind bars

Loma Israilov of Peter Street, Folkestone, stole dog toys worth £170 and assaulted a man at a shop in Park Farm Road, Folkestone.

The 42-year-old also stole three phone cases worth £105 from a shop in Alexandra Gardens, Folkestone.

Magistrates sentenced Israilov to 28 days in prison. He must also pay a £230 victim surcharge.

Driving ban for Willesborough teen

Christopher Balne, of Kings Chase, drove a Volkswagen Polo in Kennington Road, Ashford, and gave a breath test of 81 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.

Magistrates banned the 19-year-old from driving for a year and eight months. He must also pay a £100 fine, 85 costs and a £30 victim surcharge.

Drink driver banned for more than three years

Gareth Fulbrook, of Dover Road, Walmer, gave a breath test of 48 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath when driving on the A2.

Magistrates banned the 43-year-old from driving for three years and two months. He must also pay a £110 fine, £85 costs and a £30 victim surcharge.

Canterbury woman won't be driving for a year and a half

Kemi-Louise Hall, of Downs Road, drove a Perodua Kelisa in Military Road, Canterbury, and gave a breath test of 66 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.

Magistrates banned the 24-year-old from driving for a year and a half. She must also pay a £110 fine, £85 costs and a £30 victim surcharge.

300 hours of unpaid work for Ramsgate woman

Sian Brown, of South Eastern Road, failed to stop a vehicle in South Eastern Road, after having an accident where damage was caused to another vehicle.

She also failed to provide a specimen of breath for analysis.

Magistrates banned the 26-year-old from driving for two years and ordered her to carry out 300 hours of unpaid work in the next year. She must also pay £85 costs and an £85 victim surcharge.

Prison and ban for Herne Bay man

David Bullough, of Merrywood Grove, drove a Peugeot 5008 in Thanet Way, Whitstable, and gave a breath test of 130 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.

Magistrates sentenced the 43-year-old to eight weeks in prison and banned him from driving for three years. He must also pay a £115 victim surcharge.

Driving offender sentenced

Nikodem Dubis, of Northdown Road, Margate, drove a Volkswagen Golf in Eastern Esplanade, Margate, while disqualified and with no insurance.

He then failed to turn up to court.

Magistrates sentenced the 23-year-old to 40 days in prison, suspended for a year, banned him from driving for nine months and ordered him to carry out 80 hours of unpaid work in the next year. He must also pay a £50 fine.

Shop burglar sentenced

Paul McDonagh, of Perrot Way, Hawkinge, burgled a shop in Park Farm Road, Folkestone, and stole £230 cash.

Magistrates sentenced the 43-year-old to 120 days in prison, suspended for a year. He must also pay £230 compensation and £85 costs.

Curfew for woman with combat knife

Shelley Nicholls, of Princess Margaret Avenue, Ramsgate, had a combat knife in Margate Road, Ramsgate.

Magistrates sentenced the 35-year-old to 12 weeks in prison, suspended for a year, and gave her a 12-week curfew to remain at home between 8pm and 6am daily until March 29.

She must also pay a £100 fine, £85 costs and a £115 victim surcharge.

Drug driver handed 200 hours of unpaid work

Nicky Parfitt, of Lonsdale Drive, Gillingham, drove a Vauxhall Astra in Lower Rainham Road, Gillingham, and gave a blood test of 582 microgrammes of Diazepan per litre of blood. The threshold limit is 550 microgrammes.

Magistrates ordered the 26-year-old to carry out 200 hours of unpaid work in the next year and banned him from driving for two years and five months.

He must also pay £85 costs and an £85 victim surcharge.

Ban and unpaid work for drink driver

Tim Dallas, of Kent Road, Halling, drove a Citroen Dispatch in Kent Road, and gave a breath test of 94 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.

Magistrates banned the 52-year-old from driving for a year and 11 months and ordered him to carry out 40 hours of unpaid work in the next year.

He must also pay £85 costs and an £85 victim surcharge.

Perfume thief handed curfew

Bridie Edwards, of Farnol Road, Dartford, stole perfumes worth £147 from a shop in New Road, Gravesend.

Magistrates sentenced the 23-year-old to 60 days in prison, suspended for a year, and gave her a three-month curfew to remain at home between 7pm and 7am daily until April 5.

She must also pay £85 costs and a £140 victim surcharge.

More than two years off the road for one man

Stephen Gaines, of Hanover Drive, Gillingham, drove a Ford Kuga in Maidstone Road, Gillingham, and gave a breath test of 108 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.

Magistrates banned the 51-year-old from driving for two years and a month. He must also pay a £1,500 fine, £85 costs and a £150 victim surcharge.

Cash thief sentenced

Christopher Carey, of New Road, Dartford, broke into a property in New Road, and stole cash worth an unknown amount.

Magistrates ordered the 23-year-old to carry out 150 hours of unpaid work in the next year.

He must also pay £545 compensation, £85 costs and an £85 victim surcharge.

Three year ban for Strood man

Nurudeen Akinwande, of Gordon Road, failed to provide breath test for analysis in Northfleet.

Magistrates banned the 56-year-old from driving for three years and ordered him to carry out 250 hours of unpaid work in the next year.

He must also pay £175 costs and an £85 victim surcharge.

Ban and fine for drink driver

Daniel Woodcock, of London Road, Sittingbourne, drove a Ford Focus on the A2, Hartlip, and gave a breath test of 91 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.

Magistrates banned the 26-year-old from driving for a year and ten months. He must also pay a £160 fine, £85 costs and a £30 victim surcharge.

Confectionary thief sentenced

Toni Cooney, of Matthews Way, Rochester, stole confectionary worth an unknown amount from a service station in Maidstone Road, Chatham.

Magistrates sentenced the 23-year-old to 90 days in prison, suspended for a year and a half. She must also pay £50 compensation, £85 costs and a £115 victim surcharge.

Brandy thief behind bars

Lee Robinson, of Grange Hill, Chatham, stole two bottles of brandy worth £68 from a supermarket in The Pentagon Shopping Centre, Chatham.

Magistrates sentenced the 36-year-old to 14 days in prison.

Because the offence was committed during the operational period of a suspended sentence, the overall length of his sentence is 74 days.

He must also pay £85 costs and a £115 victim surcharge.

Strood man banned

Jon McNeil, of Scholars Rise, drove a Ford Focus in Pier Road, Gillingham, and gave a breath test of 73 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.

Magistrates banned the 42-year-old from driving for a year and a half. He must also pay a £200 fine, £85 costs and a £30 victim surcharge.

Maidstone man handed 240 hours of unpaid work

Philip Priest, of Chillington Street, damaged three cars in Arundel Street, Maidstone.

Magistrates ordered the 52-year-old to carry out 240 hours of unpaid work in the next year. He must also pay £900 compensation and £600 costs.

Unpaid work for assaulter

Matthew Edwards, of Hampshire Drive, Maidstone, assaulted a man at a pub in Market Buildings, Maidstone.

Magistrates ordered the 20-year-old to carry out 250 hours of unpaid work in the next year and gave him a four-month curfew to remain at home between 7pm and 6am daily until May 4.

He must also pay £250 compensation, £250 costs and an £85 victim surcharge.

Drunk and disorderly teen sentenced

Kane Woodward, of The Beeches, Tunbridge Wells, assaulted a man in High Street, Tonbridge.

On another day, he was drunk and disorderly at a pub in Friar Way, Tunbridge Wells.

Magistrates sentenced the 18-year-old to eight weeks in prison, suspended for a year, ordered him to carry out 100 hours of unpaid work in the next year and gave him an eight-week curfew to remain at home between 8pm and 7am daily until March 1.

He must also pay £200 compensation, £150 costs and a £115 victim surcharge.

Seven time meat shoplifter sentenced

Matthew Gillett pleaded guilty to seven counts of shoplifting, in total stealing more than £300 worth of meat.

Magistrates sentenced the 34-year-old to 90 days in prison, suspended for 12 months. He must also pay £274 compensation, £85 costs and a £115 victim surcharge.

Shoplifting homeless man in jail

Benjamin Cooke pleaded guilty to four counts of shoplifting and one count of attempted shoplifting.

Items stolen include razor blades, cosmetics and groceries.

The 30-year-old attempted to steal two Segways worth £499.98 from a shop in The Mall, Maidstone

Magistrates sentenced Cooke to 125 days in prison. He must also pay £186 compensation.

Drink driver banned for a year and a half

Mariam Awad, of Linton Hill, Maidstone, drove an Audi in St Faiths Street, Maidstone, and gave a breath test of 72 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.

Magistrates banned the 40-year-old from driving for a year and a half. She must also pay a £120 fine, £85 costs and a £30 victim surcharge.
