Kent made it two LV County Championship Division 2 wins in a row with a comprehensive 204-run win over Glamorgan on Saturday.

Attempting to bowl a side out on the final day for the second successive game, Kent were inspired James Tredwell (pictured right) who took a career-best 8-66.

Glamorgan, chasing an improbable 385 to win in 84 overs, looked set for a draw after reaching lunch at 43-1. But they collapsed in the afternoon session and went on to lose seven wickets for 41 runs in little more than 20 overs.

It was an amazing turnaround by Kent, who trailed on first innings by 25 runs, after a below-par 285 on the opening day.

That total was thanks to Sam Northeast, who took advantage of being dropped without score to make 87 at the top of the order with Joe Denly sidelined by a migraine. Wayne Parnell (90) top scored for Kent with Tredwell making a stubborn 59 as the pair put on 151 for the sixth wicket.

Glamorgan were well placed on 239-3 in reply but Tredwell grabbed three quick wickets to rip the heart out of their middle order and they were eventually dismissed for 307.

Kent lost Northeast and Rob Key cheaply on the morning of the third day but Geraint Jones (133) and Martin van Jaarsveld (182) steered them to a position of authority with a third-wicket stand of 309.

It left Glamorgan with a massive run chase ahead of them on the final afternoon but it proved a challenge they were unable to meet and Kent moved up to second place in the table behind early pacesetters Gloucestershire.
