Amjad Khan is set to make his first appearance of the season for Kent in the four-day LV County Championship match against Essex, starting at Tunbridge Wells on Tuesday.

The 28-year-old England fast bowler practised with the rest of the squad at Canterbury on Monday, and has been included ahead of Martin Saggers.

He made his comeback in the 2nd XI friendly against Yorkshire at Beckenham last week, having been sidelines by a torn cartilage, sustained on the winter tour to the West Indies.

It's the first meeting between the two sides at the Nevill Ground for eight years, when Ben Trott's match figures of 11-68, helped Kent to victory by an innings and 152 runs with a day to spare in 2001.
