Kent graduate appears in Brazil court

A graduate from Kent accused of insurance fraud in Brazil has appeared in court in the South American country.

Shanti Andrews, 23, from Frant, near Tunbridge Wells told police her and her friend - fellow law graduate Rebecca Turner - had had £1,000 worth of their belongings stolen during a nine-month trip around the world.

It is alleged the items were later found in their hotel room.

The pair's lawyer said they will plead guilty. Both have been released on bail until the start of the trial later in August.
