The Kent resident - who played lucky dip numbers via the app - now plans to buy a new house and start up a business.

Andy Carter, senior winners’ advisor at The National Lottery’s operator Allwyn, said: “What incredible news for Mr Y, who can now look forward to buying a new home and starting his own business with his winnings.

“Huge congratulations!”

EuroMillions Millionaire Maker guarantees to create a millionaire in every draw, but the special draw in question saw 10 UK millionaires made in one night.

Yorkshireman Andy Hornsby was another of the group and checked his winning ticket just before the clock struck midnight.

National Lottery winners have the opportunity to release their names, remain anonymous or like Mr Y, release some details through partial publicity.

The National Lottery generates, on average, more than £30 million each week for National Lottery-funded projects. In total, over £50 billion has now been raised and more than 700,000 individual grants have been made across the UK.
