Heavy winds brought by Storm Darragh continue to impact Kent today.
Fallen trees have caused delays on the county's roads and railways, with a yellow weather warning still in place.
The M20 was shut Londonbound for three hours this morning between Junctions 1 and 3 because of a fallen tree, which was cleared at about 9.30am.
At the same time, Southeastern suspended services between Ashford International and Canterbury West due to a tree on the line at Wye. The issue was resolved at about 11am.
Meanwhile, trains in the west of the county continue to experience “major disruption” because of a fault with a signalling system.
Services between Dartford and London Victoria are being diverted to Cannon Street, while trains between Sevenoaks and London Victoria will only run between Sevenoaks and Orpington.
Trees have also come down in Park Road, Birchington, and in Westerham.
According to traffic monitoring tool Inrix, Wateringbury Road in Teston, Maidstone is blocked in both directions blocked due to a fallen tree between Barming Road and Red Hill shortly after 3pm.
Faversham Road in Charing, near Ashford, is also shut due a fallen tree on BT cables.
The road remains closed from Monkery Lane to Stalisfield Road, with a diversion in place between the A252 and A251, to allow for safe working at height.
The weather warning has been extended until 6pm, with the Met Office reporting winds may reach speeds of 70mph.
It said: “Winds will quite widely gust to 35-45 mph inland but locally could gust in excess of 50 mph, especially over higher ground.
“Around coasts, winds will gust to 50-60 mph, perhaps locally nearer 70 mph during the morning.
“The wind may cause disruption to travel, with difficult driving conditions likely. Winds will very slowly ease from the north through the day.”
Storm Darragh landed yesterday but is expected to be moving away from the UK throughout today.
This morning, police in Sevenoaks said they had been dealing with the impact of the heavy winds overnight.
They said: “Team 1 have attended multiple calls tonight during Storm Darragh, including a tree down in Westerham which officers cleared.
“Drive safe with strong and wet conditions still present.”
