A MAN has appeared in court accused of murdering 26-year-old Cliftonville man David Gavin.

Daniel Mazza, 23, of Clifton Gardens, Margate, appeared before magistrates at Folkestone on Wednesday. He will remain in custody until April 2 when he will appear at Maidstone Crown Court.

A 19-year-old woman arrested on Saturday in connection with the incident was released on police bail on Tuesday.

Det Chief Insp Jon Bumpus said: "A man has been charged with murder but I am still appealing for people to come forward with information.

"I understand there may be a reluctance among some members of the community to talk to police but I want to assure people that they can speak to officers in confidence."
