Man cut free from car after crash in Leybourne

A man has been cut from his car this morning after a crash on the southbound A228 in Leybourne.

The smash, involving two vehicles, happened at about 5.30am by traffic lights near Hermitage Farm.

Firefighters from Larkfield used hydraulic cutting equipment to release the man.

The other driver, who was also male, was out of his car by the time crews arrived.

Police and an ambulance crew were also called and both men reportedly suffered injuries, the extent of which is so far unknown.

The A228 remained open throughout the crash.
