A man has died after a serious accident on the outskirts of Faversham on Tuesday.

Emergency services were called to Seed Road, between the villages of Newnham and Otterden at 11.40am following reports a farming vehicle had been involved in a road accident close to The Tapster Inn.

The man, believed to be in his 50s, suffered serious injuries in the accident and was treated at the scene for several hours before being pronounced dead.

Crews from Kent Fire & Rescue Service's Urban Search and Rescue Team, as well as firefighters from Sittingbourne and Faversham, attended along with police and ambulance crews.

The road remained closed into the early evening while officers from Kent Police's Serious Collision Investigation Unit carried out further inquiries.
