A 44-year-old man has appeared in court accused of the kidnap, rape and assault of a 21-year-old woman in a Kent park.

Mark Forey, of Scott Avenue, Rainham, was charged on Wednesday after the incident, which took place in the early hours of Sunday morning in Capstone Country Park, Gillingham.

He was remanded in custody by Medway magistrates on Thursday and will next appear at Maidstone Crown Court on Friday, July 6.
