Several Gillingham players are nursing injuries ahead of the trip to Port Vale.

Gills boss Martin Allen will definitely be without the suspended Bradley Dack (pictured) on Saturday while both Jack Payne (groin) and Myles Weston (back) failed fitness tests ahead of Tuesday night’s win over Southend and will be assessed again before the trip north.

Charlie Lee could be a doubt after hobbling off with a leg injury against Southend.

But despite a busy week for physio James Barker, the Gills boss knows he still has plenty of options.

"It’s testimony to the squad that we have got (that) we can all pull together and still do it," said Allen.

"We will get everyone back together and see who is fit for the journey up north."

The Gills faced a tough midweek match but Allen rubbished suggestions his side will be feeling the effects after playing 45 minutes with 10 men.

"The players won’t be tired, they don’t get tired," he said.

"They were in Thursday, we travel Friday and we will train up there in the afternoon."
