No ID - three days after body find on Sittingbourne wasteland

The body of a man found on wasteland in Sittingbourne has still not been identified - five days after the grim discovery by a passer-by.

Following a call from a member of the public, police found the body in an area of wasteland between Staplehurst Road and the Senora Fields estate in Sittingbourne at 10.30pm on Wednesday.

He was wearing a white sports vest and white knee-length shorts and a pair of red and white training shoes. He was carrying no identification but is believed to be aged between 20 and 30.

Officers are still trying to identify the body to trace next-of-kin. They are also investigating the cause of death although it is not being treated as suspicious at this stage.

A post-mortem examination has not yet been held.
