A pervert once described as one of Britain’s most wanted paedophiles is facing jail after admitting attempted sexual grooming of a teenage boy.

Jason Trask, 63, of Tonbridge Road, Maidstone, has pleaded guilty to attempting to meet a boy under the age of 16 following grooming between July 1 and 4 this year.

Trask, who has numerous convictions for serious child sex abuse dating back more than 45 years, also admitted attempting to breach an interim sexual offences prevention order between the same dates.

Trask appeared at Maidstone Crown Court and was remanded in custody until he is sentenced on November 21.

He was deported from Holland to Britain earlier this year after serving a six-year prison sentence for possessing indecent images.

However, when he arrived in this country he failed to tell police where he was living, a requirement he must comply with as a registered sex offender, and his details and picture were published on the Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre’s Most Wanted website.

Trask later handed himself into police and was bailed to live in a hostel in Frindsbury Road, Strood. He also has links to Canterbury, Woolwich and Greenwich in south east London, and Bradford and Huddersfield.

He was first convicted in 1964 at the age of 17. As well as being deported from Holland, Trask has also been banned from the country for at least 10 years.
