A Weald police spokeswoman said the latest victim had been "very shaken" by her ordeal. One of the intruders is white, aged about 50, tall, medium build, with short, dark hair, a round face and small nose. He was clean-shaven and wearing a dark suit and white shirt.

The other is white, about 19, 5ft 8ins, slim, wearing dark blue jeans, a dark zip-up jacket and light-coloured baseball cap.

Det Con Any Nevin of Weald Police aid: "This illustrates how important it is for all householders to be on their guard. We strongly advise that doors are always answered with a security chain in place. If the identity of the callers is not known, or cannot be established, they do not have a right to be let in."
