And then there were two!

A wildlife park in Kent has welcomed the birth of its second giraffe in a week.

Seven-year-old Rothschild giraffe, Lunar, gave birth to a calf this afternoon at Port Lympne Wildlife Park in Hythe.

The newly-born calf arrived exactly a week after Lehana, also an endangered Rothschild giraffe, gave birth to a male calf.

Over a thousand keen-eyed giraffe fans kept a close watch on Lunar as the zoo live-streamed the birth on Facebook and YouTube.

Both new calves share the same father – the appropriately named Valentino.

The park have shared a video of the male calf out exploring with Lehana.

The park, one of two run by the Aspinall Foundation, now has 10 giraffes in its herd.

Baby giraffes are usually up and about only half an hour after giving birth. The zoo is expected to announce the sex of the new calf in the next few days.
