A police officer today denied causing the death of a 29-year-old bride-to-be by dangerous driving.

Met Police PC Nigel Brown, 46, is alleged to have committed the offence on the A21 Pembury Road on May 5 last year.

Mum-of-three Felicity Austin, from Hadlow, died after a head-on collision with an unmarked police car on operational duties.

Brown, whose address cannot be given by order of Judge Andrew Patience QC, will not stand trial until November 29.

At a hearing at Maidstone Crown Court today, unconditional bail was continued.

Miss Austin, who worked at Hadlow Playgroup, was engaged to Simon Huggins.
