Police appeal after brutal assault

A MAN was brutally beaten up after a night out socialising with friends in Rochester High Street. The victim received a broken jaw which required two metal plates and 15 stitches above his right eye as he walked along the road near The Crown pub near Rochester Bridge.

He still has only a vague recollection of the attack in which he was punched in the face by a man at about 9.30pm on Friday February 8. He can only remember waking up in hospital in the early hours of the next morning.

Det Con Simon Mather said:"This is a serious assault and we are keen to hear from any witnesses to this incident who may be able to provide a clearer idea of what happened. I would also like anyone with information about the possible offender to contact police on 01634 884252 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111. All calls will be treated in the strictest of confidence.
