A woman has told police she suffered a serious sexual assault at a funfair 16 years ago.

Officers in Folkestone have issued an e-fit image of a man they want to talk to about the incident, which happened at the old Rotunda fairground in 1994.

The victim approached officers in December last year to report she had been the victim of an attack after leaving the old La Parisienne nightclub.

She was in her 30s at the time.

A Kent Police spokesman said: "This was a serious sexual assault and for whatever reason the victim has only recently come forward to report it.

"Despite the time lapse we are confident the image is a reasonably accurate one."
