Police officer in charge of Damian Green arrest review knighted

Ian Johnston, Chief Constable of the British Transport Police and the senior police officer who reviewed the arrest of MP Damian Green, has been knighted in the Queen's birthday honours.

The 64-year-old - from Petts Wood, near Orpington - has been honoured for services to the police.

He was in charge of a review of last year's Metropolitan Police investigation into Home Office leaks, which led to the arrest of Ashford MP Mr Green, the shadow immigration spokesman. The review is yet to be published.

Also honoured is Dr Annette Doherty, senior vice-president of Pfizer Global Research and Development at Sandwich, who receives an OBE for services to the pharmaceutical industry.

Richard Holdsworth, the heritage director at Chatham Historic Dockyard, has been handed an MBE.
