A special meeting will be held tonight so councillors can answer further questions about plans to close three schools in Medway.

More than 40 questions were tabled for councillors during a full meeting on June 18, but only 22 were answered.

As a result, Medway’s Labour Group called for the special meeting - at St George’s Centre, Chatham Maritime, from 7pm – to answer the remaining questions.

The Labour group will also propose two separate motions calling on the council’s Cabinet to scrap plans for closure of the schools: Ridge Meadow and St John’s in Chatham; and St Peter’s Infants, Rochester.
