Thieves broke into a car dealership in Rainham and stole a motocross bike and three quad bikes thought to be worth around £20,000.

The break-in happened at Hidsons quad bike centre in Rainham High Street, at about 11.30pm on Saturday.

Nigel Hidson, managing director at the site, said: “We only launched our quad bike centre at our high street site, less that six months ago.

“Quad biking is now considered to be the most accessible motor sport in the UK which has made the bikes in question so desirable to steal.

“As a consequence of the theft we have now been forced to transfer our quad stock to another secure off-site location.”
