A young man from Iraq was racially abused by a semi-naked man while he walked to work.

The 25-year-old was walking along the High Street in Dover at about 1 pm on Tuesday, August 18, when a man came up and poked him in the chest.

He then started making racist comments about illegal immigrants and continued to follow the Iraqi, shouting racist abuse all the way.

He was described as being white, middle aged, with grey hair and wearing tracksuit bottoms but no top.

A man aged in his 40s was arrested and has been bailed while officers make further enquiries.

Anyone who witnessed the incident, or has any information is asked to contact Detective Constable Mel Avory on 01304 240055.
