Margate magistrates court has been evacuated after a second bomb scare in as many weeks.

The alert on Friday lunchtime came from a hoax caller, who claimed explosives had been hidden inside the building.

A spokesperson for Kent Police confirmed on Saturday a full search had been conducted but no devices or suspicious packages had been found.

The latest scare comes less than a fortnight after another anonymous bomb threat.

The court in Cecil Square and neighbouring shops, businesses and offices were evacuated when the call was received on Tuesday, August 25.
