Southeastern signalling problems causing delays for commuters in Kent

A signalling fault has meant that commuters are facing delays on the trains this evening.

Three platforms at London Charing Cross were out of action which left some travellers stuck on standstill trains just yards away from the platform.

Platforms one, two and three at London Charing Cross were closed because of the problem and one train user reported being stuck on a "boiling hot train two minutes away from the platform".

Another passenger said her train was delayed by 30 minutes.

Services to and from the station were affected and although the issue has now been resolved, train users have been told to expect delays until approximately 9.30pm.

Some trains were diverted to run to or from alternative stations including Cannon Street and Victoria.

Passengers have been assured that they can use their ticket on the underground at no extra cost to get around the disruption.

Any passengers who have been badly affected by the delays can claim via delay repay.
