Singer Ammie reaches for stardom

A YOUNG Kent singer has landed a part in a West End show after an audition along with hundreds of other hopefuls. Ten-year-old Ammie Middleton is to appear in Born to Perform, a one-off pruduction to raise money for the Children with Leukaemia charity.

Ammie, of Madden Avenue, Chatham, has always wanted to sing, but attended the rehearsal in Essex, fust for the experience.

She said: "I saw it advertised in The Stage and we went just to see how an audition is.

I'm always singing and just can't stop. I'm really excited about the part and had the first rehearsal on Sunday."

Ammie has performed in numerous productions at her school, Horsted Junior, and took the lead role of Sandy in Grease last year. Now she is hoping her West End debut will be the start of a career in show business.
