It's not often that the captain of the Starship Enterprise beams in to watch football in Kent - and unfortunately for him his team failed to cling-on and were defeated 2-0 by Gillingham.

Sir Patrick Stewart, who played Jean Luc Picard in Star Trek: The Next Generation, was watching Huddersfield Town at Priestfield on Saturday.

The actor, who was knighted in the most recent New Year's honours list, was born in Yorkshire and is a lifelong fan of the Terriers.

But even having such an illustrious fan to cheer them on did not bring Huddersfield much luck.

Sir Patrick also popped into the away fans pub, The Livingstone Arms, for a drink during his time in Gillingham.
