A bus to help clubbers as they pile out of pubs and nightspots is hitting the streets for the first time tonight.

Called the SOS bus, it will be stationed on Blue Boar Lane in Rochester from 9pm until 3am tomorrow.

Volunteers will help ‘vulnerable people’ who need support on weekend nights.

Joining the bus will be Supt Steve Corbishley, the police area commander for Medway.

He said: “The bus is set to be an excellent addition to Medway and will help vulnerable people.

"However, the bus is not just going to be working during the evenings.

During the day it will be getting out to local communities, schools and drop-in centres to offer a variety of health and safety advice, as well as supporting community events."
