South African fast bowler Wayne Parnell will return to Kent for a further five-week spell.

The 19-year-old left-armer, who impressed during his initial spell at the St Lawrence Ground, will be back from July 10 until August 4, meaning he will be available for the Twenty20 Cup quarter-final against Durham Dynamos.

He will also play in three LV County Championship matches and the floodlit NatWest Pro40 game at Glamorgan Dragons.

Kent chief executive Paul Millman said: "This is great news for the club. We are delighted to be able to bring Wayne back because he made such a big impact in his initial spell.

"The team has done really well to win a tough group and qualify for the quarter-finals of the Twenty20 Cup. Wayne’s return will only help our prospects for next month’s quarter-final against Durham.

"It would’ve been nice to keep him here for a slightly longer period but the South African Cricket Board are keen for him to fulfill international commitments later in the summer."

Parnell was one of the finds of the recent World Twenty20 when he took nine wickets, including 4-13 against the West Indies, as South Africa reached the semi-finals.
