People in Kent were treated to a spooky sight last night after there was the first Halloween 'Blue Moon' in more than 70 years.
Stunning pictures of last night's rare spectacle were captured by Margate resident Kevin Clark at about 8.30pm.
They are usually the second full Moon during the same month - the first being on October 1 - and can be seen every two to three years.
Scientists say they happen when the Earth's atmosphere contains fine dust or smoke particles - which can be spewed from volcanoes - of a certain size.
When the Moon shines through them, it can make it appear blue in colour.
More often, the definition of a Blue Moon refers to the third of four full moons in a season.
It is understood to be the first time since 1944 that the phenomenon has been seen across the globe on Halloween.
