Roley, the dog dumped in Maidstone

Shocking pictures of a starving dog found wandering the streets of Maidstone have been released by the RSPCA.

The animal, thought to be a Golden Labrador/lurcher cross, was handed into the RSPCA Centre in Leybourne after it was picked up in Vinters Valley off New Cut Road in the County Town on Saturday.

The dog, is called Roley and was discovered wearing a fake black leather collar with small silver diamante bows. He also had a blue bow shaped tag with his name on it.

RSPCA Inspector Miranda Albinson said: "We would like to try and find the owner of this dog. Hopefully somebody may recognise the dog or collar. The vet believes that this dog is around 6-8 years old. He was in an absolutely appalling condition so thin and weak."

Anyone with any information is asked to contact the RSPCA in confidence on 03001234999.
