Kent's top 10 restaurants according to TripAdvisor

A Nepalese restaurant has been rated the ultimate place to dine for culinary kings in Kent.

Annapurna in Folkestone has been revealed as the top rated place to eat in the county on TripAdvisor.

Yet the list of Kent's top 10 eating places below reveals it is actually the people of Cranbrook who are best endowed with delicious dining destinations - being the only town in the top 10 with two top rated restaurants.

From Nepalese to Colombian and European to British, here are the top eateries according to diners who have left reviews about them.

1. Annapurna Nepalese Restaurant, Cheriton Place, Folkestone

Number of reviews 267 with 236 rating it as excellent

The restaurant offers an authentic Nepalese cuisine based on home cooking and serves only freshly cooked produce as food is cooked only after receiving the order, therefore the serving time can be slightly longer then in some other places.

The restaurant also has hookah/shisha service and is also happy to open and serve customers any time after noon when they pre-book.

It is vegetarian friendly, with vegan and gluten free options and also offers a take out service and serves alcohol.

2. Sofia's Colombian Kitchen, Pennine Walk, Royal Tunbridge Wells

The restaurant provides home-made authentic Latin, Colombian food on the first Saturday of the month.

It is vegetarian friendly and offers vegan and gluten free options and hosts a Colombian style dinner party where diners can meet new people, try delicious food, join in a bit of salsa dancing or just relax.

People can book a place or the whole place and it seats up to 22 people and the price is £30 per head for a three course meal.

3. Stark, Oscar Road, Broadstairs

The restaurant offers a set, six course tasting menu. It is a British menu which is vegetarian friendly but unable to cater for allergies or dietary requirements due to size and space restrictions.

It is open from Wednesday to Saturday during the evenings only and serves alcohol.

4. Bollywood Buffet, Canterbury Street, Gillingham

Number of reviews 317 with 293 rating it as excellent

The restaurant offers Indian and Asian cuisine and is an authentic Punjabi eatery and bar and is vegetarian friendly and has vegan and gluten free options.

It also offers a table and take out service and sells alcohol.

5. The Holy Pundit, Princes Parade, Hythe Imperial Hotel, Hythe

The restaurant offers an Indian fusion menu and is also a wine bar. It is a sister restaurant of Copper and Spices Folkestone & Coppers, in Hythe.

Its philosophy is to create buzz by bringing the fusion to diner's normal curry and bringing local fresh ingredients to people's plates.

The family-run restaurant offers European and British food and is vegetarian friendly and offers vegan and gluten free options and is open for bookings on Friday and Saturday evenings from 7pm and Sunday lunchtimes from 12.30pm and serves alcohol.

7. The Small Holding, Ranters Lane, Kilndown, Cranbrook

The restaurant offers a British menu and is vegetarian friendly and also has vegan and gluten free options and is a farm & kitchen serving real ales & wine inside an old-world inn.

The eatery is in the heart of Kent with food farmed, cooked and served within a one acre small holding.

8. Apicius, Stone Street, Cranbrook

The restaurant serves British and European contemporary food and offers gluten free options and has a regularly changing, seasonal menu designed for diners to choose between two and four courses and either a large or smaller portion and has a maximum table size of six and opens from Thursday to Saturday during the evenings and on Sundays for lunch and serves alcohol.

Unfortunately children under the age of eight cannot be accommodated and larger party bookings must contact the eatery first.

9. The Dove Dargate, Plum Pudding Lane, Dargate Faversham

The gastropub set in the heart of the Kent countryside and only 15 minutes by car from either Faversham, Canterbury or Whitstable.

The Dove offers a menu of fresh seasonal and local produce which is presented to the highest of standards and has a relaxed and friendly environment.

It stocks a range of premium beers, ales and spirits and a selection of the finest English and international wines.

It also has a garden with outdoor seating in the summer and a cosy log burning fire inside for the cold winter months.

10. The Wine Bar, Mortimer Street, Basement Bar, Herne Bay

The restaurant serves a British grill menu and is a bar but is also vegetarian friendly and offers vegan and gluten free options.

It is a cosy basement bar & restaurant which offers a lunch time and evening menu from sandwiches to steaks and fresh fish or lamb and lots more.

It is open for lunches from Thursday to Sunday and evening only dining from Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights.
