Two men are being hunted by police after they robbed a petrol station on the M2.

The robbery happened at the Moto service station in Rainham (library picture left) last night, but details have only just been released by police.

The men approached the doors of the kiosk between 10pm and 10.15pm and forced entry using a screwdriver.

The pair then threatened a staff member to open the till and they made off with £80 and filled up two white plastic baskets with cartons of cigarettes.

Both are white between 25 and 30 years old.

One was 5ft 8in and was wearing a blue hooded top, a baseball cap and trainers.

The other was about 6ft tall and was wearing a grey hooded top, a baseball cap and tracksuit bottoms.

PC Caroline Bentley-Read who is investigating the incident, said: "We are keen to hear from anyone who may have been in the area at the time the incident took place who can assist us with our enquiries.

"We believe that the two men made off in the direction of the hotel and therefore guests may have witnessed the men walk or run past them."
