Thousands turn out for homecoming parade

Thousands of people lined the streets of Tunbridge Wells on
Friday to welcome home British troops.

The homecoming parade for the The Princess of
Wales's Royal Regiment (PWRR) was held in Tunbridge Wells on
Friday.

The parade was held to mark the return of
the soldiers from active service in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The Mayor, Cllr Leonard Price, presented medals to two Kent
soldiers.

Private Andrew Neil, 22, from Tunbridge Wells, who was part
of the last British Army convoy to cross the border from Iraq to
Kuwait, received the Telic operational medal.

Private Alex Chapman, 20. from
Canterbury, who has served with the regiment for one-and-a-half
years, received the Herrick medal after returning
from Afghanistan.
